He completed his DO from Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai and then further finalized DNB and FVRS (Surgical Vitreoretina Fellowship) qualifications from Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore.
Presently,Vijay Nagaraj Kondlahalli is a teaching faculty at Vijaynagar Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), Bellary. As an Assistant Professor, he contributes chiefly towards training and research activities in the institution.
